Obedience In Testing

"And in thy seed, all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because thou hast obeyed my voice"

When is the last time you had to maintain obedience in a time of testing? In a time of not knowing? Like when Christ called the disciples to leave everything and follow Him, or when Abraham was told to sacrifice His son Isaac.

These are always the hardest test for me, the ones when I cannot see how God will do it. The times when I have to obey Him knowing it may challenge me, or cost me everything. But that's when I remember the faith of Abraham, and how he went up the mountain not knowing how God would provide, but only trusting that he would.

Abraham was obedient in the testing, and through his obedience, he found the lamb of sacrifice that God had placed in the thicket. A lamb he would have never seen had he not journeyed in obedience up that mountain to sacrifice his son Isaac.

Today, we know that lamb represents Christ, the one who strengthens us for obedience in all our trials. So that by His Spirit, we can follow in the faithful footsteps of Abraham, knowing that with him, we also can inherit the promises.

For I want to encourage you today to be obedient in your testing, knowing that God will provide the sacrifice you need to complete it!
